چکیده

Objective: to compare the state of coagulation system in patients with ischemic stroke and coronavirus disease those without disease. Materials methods. We examined 40 acute period cerebral stroke, aged from 69 87 years (average age 77.30 ± 2.08 years). They were divided into two groups: group I — SARS-CoV-2-positive, II SARS-CoV-2-negative. Group consisted 20 individuals (9 women 11 men) 84 76.9 3.0 included (10 10 72 78.5 2.5 Results. Twelve (60 %) had a moderate severity, 8 (40 severe. The severity neurologic deficits on National Institutes Health Stroke Scale did not differ significantly both clinical it was 14.0 0.7 points, 10.00 1.37 which corresponded significance level p = 0.05. In neurological status, motor sensory observed groups combination speech disorders ataxia. average prothrombin index 101 6 %, 83 2 0.01. fibrinogen 401.0 18.6 mg/dl, 250 12 can lead temporary hypercoagulation development thromboembolism (p < 0.05). I, D-dimer 465 ng/ml, 175 4 ng/ml Conclusions. data suggest that SARS-CoV-2-posi-tive compared SARS-CoV-2-ne-gative ones are characterized by presence coagulopathy, as evidenced higher levels fibrinogen, index, thrombocytopenia, well C-reactive protein indicates an inflammatory process, also causes thrombosis.

Combination of Lidocaine and Chloral Hydrate as a New Method of Anesthesia in a Rat Model of Ischemic Stroke

Background and purpose: In experimental studies, proper choice of anesthesia method is important for both validity of results and improving the rate of success and mortality. In current study, we examined the effects of lidocaine combined with chloral hydrate for induction of anesthesia in a rat model of ischemic stroke. Materials and methods: In this research, 30 male rats were studied as sha...

dysphagia in acute ischemic stroke

Introduction: Swallowing dysfunction complicates acute strokes in 25-32% of cases and directly affects patientschr('39') prognosis and recovery. Dysphagia complicates the course of acute strokes through its potential of the development of chest infection, nutritional problems, and dehydration.  Dysphagia is also an independent predictor of respiratory morbidity and mortality in acute stroke. In...

Evaluation of Homocysteine Level as a Risk Factor among Patients with Ischemic Stroke and Its Subtypes

Background: Epidemiological research has shown that increased total homocysteine (tHcy) levels are associated with an increased risk of thromboembolic disease; however, controversy still exists over which subtype of stroke is allied to hyperhomocysteinemia. This study aimed to investigate whether elevated tHcy is an independent risk factor for ischemic stroke and to compare tHcy levels in patie...

Periodontal disease as a risk factor for ischemic stroke.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Chronic infectious diseases may increase the risk of stroke. We investigated whether periodontal disease, including periodontitis and gingivitis, is a risk factor for cerebral ischemia. METHODS We performed a case-control study with 303 patients examined within 7 days after acute ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack, 300 population controls, and 168 hospital con...
